Summer Listings API Project now live!

Shared by Patrick Hoesly

Today the Edinburgh Festivals became just that little bit more awesome.

So we’ve been talking about it for some time and now it’s here. For the first time ever the Edinburgh Festivals – and in particular the seven summer festivals – will be sharing their listings data through an API.

The simplicity of the three letters API disguise the incredible amount of work that sits behind this project, and for those of you who have following our story from the beginning this API represents the next chapter of our open innovation strategy following the superb Culture Hack Scotland event in May.

Full details of how the API works, what is is, its usage/licence terms, registration and all that lovely stuff is available in our dedicated Summer API section.

This is new stuff. Not only for the festivals but for the arts in the UK as a whole. So while this launch is only the beginning we’d like to thank everyone who have helped us get to this point.

Finally and importantly, this is a pilot initiative and learning process for us as well as everyone else so do please let’s make sure this is a conversation.

So we look forward to your participation, whether as a user, an advocate, a critic or an observer.
