Visualising the Festival City – Part 2!
In a lovely parallel to festivalclock.com, Rory Fitzpatrick from StormID created this lovely visualisation of all geo-located tweets, photos and check-ins over August in the festival city.
It’s a beautiful piece of work.
Introducing festivalclock.com
At Culture Hack Scotland, one of the standout projects was the footfall clock where Justin Quillinan which created a dynamic visualisation of the data from the council’s 19 footfall counters across the city.
His project really captured our imagination and we wondered what would happen if we paired him with a world-class infographic designer and let them loose on the festivals’ listings API. So that’s what we did.
We introduced Justin to the brilliant Stef Posavec and this is what came out of it – an amazing dynamic visualisation of the seven summer Edinburgh festivals.
Go have a play.
